In April 2008, ad lady called Jenny Ford held a competition for young entrepreneurs. My brother and I entered and today 3/11/2008 I Rhiannon Leetham won one of the two places. Even though I’m really happy I’m still really sad because my brother, Morgan, didn’t win. :’( . So far all, that I know of, my mum has tweeted it, blogged it, skyped it and forumed it.

By winning this comp I have been chosen to be featured in a book written by Peter Economy who writes a seiries of “Business for Dummies”

I must thank my mum on this because she encouraged me to do this.

Well I’ve found something to write about my hobbies. One of these hobbies is cooking. Ever I could help my dad make pancakes and I could put hot dogs to the boil, I’ve been a major fan of cooking. Some….actually most of my favorite recipes are sweet ones (dessert), then I have morning tea and afternoon tea, then comes the main meals.

So I have many hobbie but when people say your favorite hobby I first think of cooking. Areason why this is one of my favorite hobbies is it can be used to cool down and if you make a cake you can lick the bowl. :-)

Here I list some of my favorite recipes to share:

Butter Cake

From The Perfect Cake Book

Ingredients

185g Butter or Margarine

1 tsp Vanilla Essence

1 cup Castor Sugar

3 Eggs

3 cups Self-raising Flour

3/4 cup Milk

Method

  1. In a large bowl, beat butter and vanilla essence together until softened.  Gradually add castor sugar, beat until light and fluffy.
  2. Lightly beat eggs, then gradually adding to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition. If using electric beater, add one tbsp of milk while mixing butter and sugar.
  3. Sift flour. Using a large metal spoon, fold flour lightly into creamed mixture alternately with milk. Spoon mixture into a greased cake tin, 23cm deep. Bake at 108°C or 350°F for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Turn onto wire rack leave to cool.

At my school I’m in a band, and in this band I play the clarinet although I used to play the trumpet. From going from the trumpet to the clarinet my musical skills have improved because I find the clarinet much easier. In band I play the easier parts though. I like playing the clarinet more that the trumpet because it’s easier and it’s more enjoyable to play. Before playing both of those I played the piano which I like so much. I even dreamt of becoming the worlds most famous piano player but I gave that up when I got my clarinet and started my clarinet lessons. Through all of the music I play I have gotten a good sense of rhythm, timing and theory.

I like my music lessons in my electives and my clarinet lessons very much. My mum says that if you practice you will become a great music player and famous if you keep at it. So with my clarinet I plan to practice everyday and have my notes perfect and my music unspoiled.

In my life I’ve had a few frightening experiences. There was one that I still remember when I was 4 and that was on a family picnic and I went to play on the swings and I asked my dad to push me. I was going really high and I was used to going high so I thought I would slacken my grip a bit and that was a bad idea. I fell of flew off the swing and skidded around 5m over tambark, concrete and grass. The concrete was only around 20cm long but when I got up I had this massive gash on my right hip and my knees were bleeding and I had grass stains all over. That was the most frightning one that I can remember.

Another one was in a seires and the first hit was when I was in year two and I was playing on the monkey bars and I fell off and I sprained my wrist. Then the next day these year 5’s came running aroud the corner and bowled me over and I landed on my sprained wrist and that made it worst and I had to go to my mums store in the Hyperdome and my arm was wrapped up in bandages and she asked me what happened, so I told her. Then she said that it was the wrong sort of bandage so we went to the chemist next door and I got the right sort of bandage for what I needed. It still didn’t stop the next day, because I was running around with my friends and I tripped on a stump of grass and tripped and landed on my arm… again. As you can imagine I was already in a huge amount of pain but that fall made it worst. That is my second most frightening experience because I thought I had broken my arm.

My third most frightening experience was when I was ten I was riding to the shops with my brother and a friend with their parents. I was riding on the path which has shoulder height walls made from stones. I was going around a corner when I went over a 2 liter coke bottle and my feet bounced off the pedals so I was struggling to get my feet back on the pedals while trying to steer. Didn’t work to well, I then went straight into the wall and I fell off and the bike land04ed on top of me and I ended up with grazes and bruises all over me, but I hoped back on my bike nonetheless and kept riding on.

Those are my most frightening experiences ever.

At home we have 5 border Collie dogs. 3 black and white, 1 blue and white and 1 red and white. Our dogs names are KD, Cindy, Tucker, Gali and Phoebe. KD, the oldest of our dogs is 12 going on 13 in Nov, Cindy, the second oldest is 7 going on 8 in Feb, Tucker, the middle dog in 7 going on 8 in June, then two youngest, Gali and Phoebe, are 2 weeks apart and are 5 going on 6 in December. Gali and Cindy have the blue and white and the red and white, Gali being the blue and Cindy being the red, while KD, Tucker and Phoebe are the black and whites.

We bred KD, Tucker, Gali and Phoebe but Cinders we got from these people because mum wanted a red & white border and she thought Cinders was lovely so we brought her home. She got on well with the other dogs and at this time Gali and Phoebe weren’t born and we had two other dogs, Onyx and Shep. Onyx was a basenji, black and white and Shep was another black and white Border Collie.

At the time when Cinders came Onyx was known as the Patriarch of the kennel and Shep the Matriarch. Cinders was successful of giving birth to 4 beautiful litters all of the puppies from each litters were black and white.

KD came from one of Shep’s sisters, Tucker came KD, Gali came from one of Tuckers sisters, Promise and Phoebe came from Tuckers half sisters, Bandit. We don’t know who Cinders came from.

That is the story of some of the arvoreen gang.

Welcome to my blog as you can tell I’m Rhiannon Leetham. I’m enrolled in TCS, Trinity Christian School, and I’m also in year six. You’ve most probably heard about me from my mum and my mum’s blogs. I first came online around 1 month after my mum did and I started off with a recipe blog, rhiannonsrecipes.com. After that my mum and dad decided it was time to get a blog that makes money. So my dad I went and looked for an affiliate program that catered to my interests and eventually we found the best product and we joined up as an affiliate. In the next two days my site was up and my mum had helped me write a sales page. Now that site is up and it is, thatpsychicgirl.com.

Before I was online I was helping my mum and dad run up to 4 retail stores. I helped them by helping on the tills helping doing stocktake and by helping customers on the floor. This was hard work but we got through the day. Then after my parents sold the stores my brother and I were doing pamphlet deliveries and for this job we were under paid for the amount of work we did. We did that for around a year then we gave up and kept to our online businesses.

As my mum said on her blog we’re going to be moving into our grandparents place. That is most probably going to be the hardest thing I’ve experienced yet though we’ll get through like we normally do. Again like my mum said We’ll be fitting six people into a 3 bedroom house.

I have stared this blog to share my experiences good and bad with others.
